Arsenal are reportedly in advanced talks with Emile Smith Rowe over a new long-term deal at the club.
The 20-year-old has been an important player for the Gunners during the 2020-21 campaign, making 31 appearances in all competitions, contributing four goals and seven assists in the process.
Smith Rowe scored the winner as Arsenal beat Chelsea 1-0 in the Premier League on Wednesday evening, while he played a key role in his side's progression to the semi-finals of the Europa League.
The Englishman's current deal at the Emirates Stadium is due to expire in June 2023, but according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, talks over a fresh five-year contract are at an advanced stage.
Romano claims that the two parties have been in discussions since March, and the North London club are 'optimistic' that an agreement will soon be reached.
Smith Rowe impressed during a loan spell at Huddersfield Town during the 2019-20 campaign before returning to Arsenal to compete for a first-team spot.
