Arsenal have yet to open talks with Mesut Ozil over a new contract, according to a report.
The 31-year-old has a little over a year to run on his existing £350,000-a-week deal, making him the highest-paid player at the club.
Ozil has been used more regularly since Mikel Arteta succeeded Unai Emery at the end of last year, but ESPN claims that discussing fresh terms with the German midfielder is not a priority for the Gunners.
The report indicates that Arsenal will instead first attempt to offload Ozil at the end of the season in order to get his high wages off their books.
Despite repeated links with a move away from the Emirates Stadium, the former Real Madrid star's agent Erkut Sogut recently stressed that he is "very happy" in North London.
