Brentford striker Ivan Toney is reportedly targeting a January move amid interest from Premier League giants Arsenal and Chelsea.

Brentford striker Ivan Toney reportedly wants to take on a fresh challenge amid interest from Arsenal and Chelsea.

The forward is currently serving an eight-month ban for breaching the Football Association's betting regulations.

With Toney's ban set to expire in the middle of January, there is a belief that he will attract significant interest in the winter window.

Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked with a potential move for the 27-year-old, with the two clubs looking to strengthen their attacking options.

Brentford boss Thomas Frank previously admitted that the club would consider selling their star striker if they received a suitable offer.

With uncertainty surrounding Toney's future, journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the player is keen to complete a move away in January.

Having spent the last three years with the Bees, the England international is now looking to seek a new challenge elsewhere.

Toney recently signed with Jonathan Barnett's CAA Stellar Agency ahead of a potential move away from the Brentford Community Stadium.

The update indicates that Chelsea and Arsenal have been made aware of Brentford's asking price should they pursue a January move.

The report also suggests that the Bees's valuation would differ if Chelsea and Arsenal decided to hold off their interest until the of the season.

Toney has been attracting interest after enjoying a successful 2022-23 season, where he scored 20 goals in 33 Premier League appearances.

In total, Toney has racked up 68 goals in 124 competitive games since joining Brentford from Peterborough United in the summer of 2021.

With Brentford at risk of losing Toney, they have drawn up a three-man shortlist of potential replacements, featuring Wolfsburg's Jonas Wind, AZ Alkmaar's Vangelis Pavlidis and Santos's Marcos Leonardo.

A recent report claimed that the Bees have also identified Leicester City striker Patson Daka as a possible transfer target.
