Gary Coulibaly prepared to depart Monaco

Monaco midfielder Gary Coulibaly reveals that he could leave the French outfit this summer.

Gary Coulibaly has insisted that he would be prepared to leave Monaco this summer in a bid to secure regular football next season.

The 27-year-old has a contract until 2016, but an influx of new midfielders at the French outfit this summer is expected to cut his first-team action.

The midfielder was on trial with Sheffield Wednesday earlier this month but an agreement between the two parties broke down, with Blackburn Rovers now reportedly the favourites to sign him.

"I have a contract until 2016, however with Joao Moutinho, Jeremy Toulalan and Delvin Ndinga in the same position it will be hard to play week-in-week-out," he told reporters in France.

"I had talks with Sheffield [Wednesday] but we could not agree a fee. I am thinking, to play in England could be fantastic.

"Blackburn is a big team and it can be a good club for me but nothing is done yet to be honest, let's see what comes out of it."

A number of Championship clubs are also believed to be monitoring proceedings.
