Alex McLeish has warned his Aston Villa players to improve their performances next season.
Villa all but secured their status as a Premier League club yesterday afternoon courtesy of a 1-1 home draw with Tottenham Hotspur.
McLeish has come in for heavy criticism from the Villa faithful this season and despite admitting that he was "happy" to take it, he has informed his squad that he won't accept a repeat next time around.
"We are assessing next season. It's all been ongoing. We've been assessing it every single week. We've got to start putting a plan of action in place," said the Scottish boss.
"Listen, I have taken a lot of weight on my shoulders this season. I was happy to take pressure off the players.
"I am not going to again next season though. They had better get their finger out."
Villa end their season with a trip to Norwich City next Sunday afternoon.
