Alex McLeish has said that Aston Villa have no-one to blame but themselves for their 2-0 defeat to Swansea City yesterday.

Swansea went ahead after a loose pass from Villa left-back Stephen Warnock allowed Nathan Dyer to score in the fourth minute.

"We shot ourselves in the foot," McLeish said. "Stevie has had a good season and he has to take that on the chin.

"It is a shame, he cares and he will be feeling it really badly.

"The problem with that goal is especially against a team like Swansea, they keep the ball well."

Villa's poor home form continues as they have won only three games at Villa Park this season.

"To lose at home is another kick in the teeth for the fans and for me, as I am proud of the home records I had in my career," McLeish added.

Aston Villa are currently 12th in the Premier League with 23 points from 23 games.
