Darren Bent will miss Aston Villa's trip to Queens Park Rangers on Sunday with a groin problem.
The striker has struggled with injury in recent weeks but manager Alex McLeish thinks he will be fit to face Wigan Athletic next weekend.
"Bent is still out but he's not bad," said the Scot. "We think he'll be ready for the next game. He's okay, there was a bit of fluid, but I think the scan was quite good.
"There was a bit of fluid around the sheath. There wasn't anything that would suggest it would keep him out longer or he would have to get any kind of operation. So that was good news."
Meanwhile, McLeish revealed that loan signing Jermaine Jenas was "50-50" for the game at Loftus Road and Emile Heskey is still out with a hamstring injury.
