Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has expressed his delight at Andreas Weimann's decision to sign a contract extension with the club.
The 21-year-old Austrian international penned a new three-year deal with the Premier League side on Monday.
"He has drive and a hunger to succeed and that's vital. That's what we're looking for here at Villa," Lambert told the club's official website.
"Whether Andi Weimann is on x-amount of money or not, you'll always get the same player but we're delighted obviously that we've agreed this new deal."
Weimann signed his first professional contract with the club in 2010 after spending three years in the youth academy.
