After failing to win any of their last three competitive matches, Barcelona will be desperate to end 2023 with a victory when they play host to struggling Almeria on Wednesday.

The visitors, who are propping up the La Liga table, travel to Monjuic with aspirations of springing a surprise and ending their long wait for a first league win of the season.

With Barcelona experiencing a poor run of form, Wednesday's contest against a winless Almeria side could be just what they need to restore confidence.

In-form Athletic Bilbao will look to extend their unbeaten run to 10 competitive matches when they play host to Las Palmas on Wednesday.

The visitors have also proven to be a tough team to beat in recent weeks, having avoided defeat in each of their last four games across all competitions.

We say: Athletic Bilbao 2-1 Las Palmas

Although Las Palmas are currently enjoying a four-game unbeaten run, they will go up against an Athletic side that tends to perform well on home turf.

With that in mind, we think Los Leones will make full use of home advantage to edge out Las Palmas and finish the calendar year with a victory.

Villarreal will look to bounce back from consecutive defeats when they welcome Celta Vigo to Estadio de la Ceramica for Wednesday's La Liga contest.

The visitors, meanwhile, will have the opportunity to claim consecutive league victories for the first time since March.

After beating Granada at the weekend, Celta will go into the final match of 2023 in high spirits, and with their last two away games finishing all square, we think the visitors will do enough to hold Villarreal to a draw.
