Neymar has insisted that his world-record £200m move from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain was not motivated by money.
The 25-year-old officially joined the Ligue 1 side last night, hours after his representatives paid Barca his €222m (£200m) release clause in full.
The Brazilian will now earn a reported €600k (£537k) a week after tax over the duration of his five-year deal, almost double the estimated £289k per week he earned after tax in Spain.
Asked to respond to critics who claimed that his move was all about money, Neymar told reporters: "What I say to these people is they don't know anything about my personal life, I was never motivated by money.
"What I think about is my happiness and together with my family, I want them to be happy.
"If I was following the money, I would be somewhere else, with other clubs in other countries. I'm really sad that people still think that way and I'm glad that PSG believe in me."
Neymar is expected to make his debut for his new side tomorrow when they host Amiens as the new Ligue 1 season begins.
