New Barcelona signing Francisco Trincao acknowledges that he regards Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as two of his idols.

New Barcelona signing Francisco Trincao has admitted that he regards future teammate Lionel Messi as one of his idols.

During the January transfer window, Barcelona revealed that they had agreed a deal to sign the 20-year-old from Braga for a fee in the region of £27m.

Ahead of his switch to Camp Nou later in 2020, Trincao has acknowledged that he is big admirer of Messi, as well as Portuguese compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo.

Speaking to Barcelona's official YouTube channel, the forward said of Messi: "I'm really looking forward to meeting him and learning from him, because we are talking about one of the best players in the world."

Despite making just 10 starts and 13 substitute outings this season, Trincao has contributed seven goals and five assists in Portugal's top flight and the Europa League.
