Barcelona forward Paco Alcacer is reportedly on the verge of signing for German giants Borussia Dortmund on an initial loan deal.

Barcelona forward Paco Alcacer has reportedly edged closer to signing for Borussia Dortmund.

The 24-year-old has contributed 15 goals in all competitions during his two seasons at Camp Nou but remains a fringe member of Ernesto Valverde's first-team squad.

Dortmund, meanwhile, have been on the lookout for a striker to bolster their ranks all summer.

According to German outlet Bild, Dortmund will pay an initial €2.2m (£2m) loan fee for the season with an option to sign Alcacer for between €20m and €25m (£18m-£22.5m) next summer.

The report also claims that BVB will pay the Spanish hitman's entire €4m yearly salary for the duration of his loan spell.

Alcacer has been linked with a switch to Premier League side Watford and La Liga club Real Betis over the past few weeks.
