Barcelona 'agree deal for Sao Paulo starlet'

Barcelona are reportedly close to announcing the signing of Sao Paulo youngster Gustavo Maia, who is said to have agreed a five-year deal.

Barcelona have reportedly agreed a deal for Sao Paulo youngster Gustavo Maia.

Despite having turned 19 years of age, Maia is yet to make his first-team debut for the Brazilian side.

However, according to Globoesporte, Barcelona are ready to hand a five-year contract to the winger.

The prospect has impressed for Sao Paulo's 'B' side in recent months, contributing three goals from seven appearances.

The report suggests that Barcelona will only have to pay €1m (£910,000), plus €3.5m (£3.19m) for economic rights, to secure the signature of Maia later in 2020.
