Barcelona are reportedly attempting to re-sign Dani Alves on a free transfer, over five years since his departure from Camp Nou.
After winning 23 trophies during an eight-year spell, the Brazilian left Barcelona for Juventus during 2016, since going on to represent Paris Saint-Germain and Sao Paulo.
However, with the 38-year-old currently a free agent, speculation persists that the veteran will eventually return to the Catalan giants.
According to journalist Nicola Schira, discussions have already taken place between the relevant parties regarding a short-term deal.
The move appears more likely to happen now that Xavi, a former teammate of Alves, has been appointed as the club's new manager.
Barcelona allegedly value the experience and leadership that Alves could provide while working with the team's younger players.
