Inter Milan sporting director Javier Zanetti suggests that Lautaro Martinez is prepared to remain at San Siro for at least another season.

Inter Milan sporting director Javier Zanetti has suggested that Lautaro Martinez may remain at San Siro beyond the next transfer window.

Having starred for the Serie A title challengers this season, Martinez has been heavily linked with a future transfer to Barcelona.

The Catalan giants are able to activate the release clause of the Argentina international, said to be in excess of £90m.

However, Zanetti has hinted that his compatriot may be prepared to continue his career in Italy for the foreseeable future.

Speaking to Radio Continental, the former defender said: "Right now, I see him having a future in Italian football. We are very happy with him and he is very happy too with Inter Milan."

The 22-year-old still has over three years remaining on his contract.
