Preview: Bastia vs. Monaco

Sports Mole previews this Saturday's Ligue 1 match between Bastia and Monaco.

Monaco can potentially move towards the top five in the Ligue 1 table when they travel to take on Bastia on Saturday.

Leonardo Jardim's side have had an inconsistent start to the campaign following two opening defeats, but the French outfit can secure back-to-back wins this weekend following their 2-0 victory over Evian.

Monaco are four points adrift of the top three following 10 games, and their away form is unpredictable having lost, won and drawn in their last three away trips.

Bastia currently reside four points beneath Monaco in the standings and just one point above the relegation zone in this early stage of the campaign.

While the majority of teams tend to be stronger on home turf, Bastia have only secured one league victory out of their five matches held at the Stade Armand Cesari.

Today, Monaco confirmed that striker Dimitar Berbatov will be out of action for three weeks with a thigh injury following Wednesday night's goalless draw with Benfica in the Champions League, which means that Anthony Martial could take his position.
