Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben admits that he will benefit from the hip injury to teammate Toni Kroos.

Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben has admitted that the injury to teammate Toni Kroos will benefit him on a personal level.

Kroos, who has been one of the German club's star players this season, was forced off in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash with Juventus on Tuesday.

Robben replaced the German international at the Allianz Arena in the first period, while he is now expected to take his starting position in the team.

"It does not look so good for Kroos, but then that is better for me. It happens in football," Robben told NOS.

"I was sick that I had to start on the bench. On Saturday I played a great game (in the 9-2 victory over Hamburg) and I wanted to continue that form, but the coach decided otherwise. I ended up playing tonight so I have to be happy."

Kroos is expected to miss the rest of the season with the hip injury.
