Bayern Munich legend Franz Beckenbauer has admitted that he hopes to see Jurgen Klopp stay in the Bundesliga after it was revealed that he would leave Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season.
Klopp will end his seven-year spell with Dortmund in the summer and he has already been linked with a move to the Premier League, but Beckenbauer is hopeful that a German club will secure his services, despite insisting that Bayern are not interested in parting ways with Pep Guardiola.
"I hope he will stay in the Bundesliga," Bayern's honorary president told reporters. "Everybody [will] ask, but not Bayern Munich, because we have an excellent coach with Guardiola. Everybody would be very happy to have the interest of Jurgen Klopp, to get him.
"I hope he takes his challenge in the Bundesliga because we need him - he is an excellent coach, an excellent guy, a very, very good character."
Reports have suggested that Dortmund are hoping to replace Klopp with former Mainz 05 boss Thomas Tuchel.
