Thomas Tuchel: 'Barcelona under Pep Guardiola was a benchmark for me'

Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel hails the managerial qualities of friend and Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola ahead of Der Klassiker.

Borussia Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel has spoken of his admiration for Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola.

The two German giants meet on Sunday in the Bundesliga Klassiker, as Guardiola's Bayern look to continue some impressive form that has seen the Bavarian club win all seven of their domestic fixtures this campaign.

"He is the best, even if he doesn't want to admit it himself," Tuchel told reporters ahead of Sunday's fixture.

"I've always been a fan of Barcelona. Barcelona under Pep was the benchmark for me."

Tuchei's Dortmund side are second in the league as it stands, after winning five and drawing two in the early stages of the new season.
