Bayern Munich reportedly turn down the prospect of appointing Arsene Wenger as the club's next permanent manager.

Bayern Munich have reportedly turned down the prospect of appointing Arsene Wenger as the club's next permanent manager.

The club has commenced its search for a new boss after the club decided to sack Niko Kovac following the club's 5-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Wenger, who managed Arsenal for a 22 year period between 1996 and 2018, has been out of work since leaving the Emirates.

According to Bild, Wenger called Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge on Wednesday afternoon to signal his availability for the role but was told that his services were not required.

It is also claimed that caretaker coach Hansi Flick is likely to remain as Bayern manager until the end of the 2019-20 campaign.

Jose Mourinho, Erik ten Hag and Ralf Rangnick have all been mentioned as leading candidates for the role.
