Jadon Sancho has revealed that he turned down interest from a number of clubs to join Borussia Dortmund from Manchester City in the summer of 2017.
City were desperate to keep hold of Sancho, but the three-time England international turned down a new contract with the Premier League giants to join Dortmund ahead of the 2017-18 campaign.
The 18-year-old has scored eight times and registered 16 assists in 39 appearances for Dortmund in all competitions and has insisted that he "always felt" that the Bundesliga club were the perfect club for him.
"Why Dortmund? It speaks for itself: youngsters get opportunities. You've got to thank Dortmund, because it's unheard of for a team that gets 80,000 fans at every home game to put so much faith in youngsters," Sancho told FourFourTwo.
"It was crazy how many clubs wanted me – it shows how well you're doing, but I always felt Dortmund was right for me."
Sancho, who has a contract at Dortmund until the end of the 2021-22 campaign, has scored seven times and registered 12 assists in 27 appearances for his German team this season.
