The striker was injured in the 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace.

Brighton's Glenn Murray is awaiting the outcome of tests on the shoulder injury he suffered in Tuesday's 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace.

The striker scored from the penalty spot to give Brighton the lead against their rivals and his former team, but was taken off during the first half, potentially leaving his availability for the busy Christmas period at risk.

Tuesday's goal was his eighth of the season and further demonstrated his importance to Chris Hughton's team, even if his replacement Florin Andone also scored against Palace and will be expected to continue to deputise for him during any possible absence.

"I have had an X-ray on it already," said the 35-year-old Murray.

"The physios are withholding their judgement. We will see what it is like when it is cool. I am not sure how bad it is, I am not a physio.

"(Andone) has been very good. He has been given his opportunity at Huddersfield and he took that and (on Tuesday) he came on earlier than he thought.

"He scored again and has been a nuisance and has been good for us. It was some goal.

"It was a good (team) performance and then a good performance turned into a professional performance."

A Brighton supporter was among those arrested — there was a wider total of 10 arrests, three of which took place at the Amex Stadium — for throwing a pie at Palace's Wilfried Zaha but his team-mate James McArthur does not believe it affected him.

The 26-year-old won the penalty from which Luka Milivojevic scored their only goal, and McAthur said: "I do not think it is really an issue. He got on with his game, got us a penalty. There is nothing much in it.

"He is going to get that. He is a top player and teams try and put him off. That is part and parcel of the game.

"We all expected a much better performance (than we produced as a team), especially after that win. It is the danger of the Premier League, we need to make sure we keep our foot on that gas."
