Sports Mole previews Saturday's FA Cup clash between Cambridge United and Luton Town, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Cambridge United will be hoping to cause another FA Cup upset when they host Championship side Luton Town in the fourth round on Saturday afternoon.

The League One outfit made headlines in the third round as they won 1-0 away at top-flight Newcastle United.

Joe Ironside, who grew up idolising Alan Shearer, scored the only goal as Cambridge stunned the newly-rich Magpies at St. James' Park in one of the stories of the previous round.

This is now Cambridge's first appearance in round four for seven years, while they have not reached the fifth round since 2000.

Mark Bonner's side are currently 13th in League One and have little chance of getting promoted or relegated, so have even more motivation to keep their cup run going.

The Yellows are winless in three games, but a 2-0 loss to Bolton Wanderers on Tuesday evening was only their second defeat in their last nine matches in all competitions.

Meanwhile, Cambridge have won three games in a row on home turf and have only lost twice at the Abbey Stadium since the end of September.

Luton achieved the joint-biggest victory in this year's FA Cup third round as they comfortably won 4-0 against League Two side Harrogate Town.

The Hatters, who reached the final of the competition in 1959, have not made it past the fourth round since 2013 when were in non-league and stunned Premier League outfit Norwich City.

The club have climbed up the divisions since then and currently sit ninth in the Championship, only three points behind the playoffs.

Nathan Jones's side have lost just one of their last nine games – winning six – and have won three of their last four away matches.

Luton are unbeaten in their previous seven meetings with Cambridge since the Yellows knocked them out of the FA Cup in 2015.

Team News

Cambridge's third round hero and top scorer Joe Ironside will not feature as he is currently sidelined with an ankle injury.

There could be an opportunity upfront for 20-year-old striker Lorent Tolaj, who joined on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion on deadline day.

Jack Iredale will be assessed after being forced off against Bolton in midweek, while Lloyd Jones, Greg Taylor, Shilow Tracey and Jensen Weir remain out.

Nathan Jones has revealed that Luton pair Jordan Clark and Elijah Adebayo are in contention to feature after missing recent games.

However, captain Sonny Bradley will remain absent following the birth of his baby last weekend.

Goalkeeper Jed Steer signed on loan from Aston Villa on deadline day and may be handed his debut at the Abbey Stadium.

Cambridge United possible starting lineup:
Mitov; Williams, Okedina, Sherring, Dunk; Digby, Worman; Knibbs, May, Brophy; Tolaj

Luton Town possible starting lineup:
Steer; Naismith, Osho, Lockyer; Bree, Mendes, Berry, Lansbury, Bell; Hylton, Jerome

We say: Cambridge United 2-1 Luton Town

On home turf, Cambridge will fancy their chances of pulling off another shock – particularly against a Luton side whose priority will now be the Championship playoff race. We think there is a high chance that this tie will go to extra time or even penalties, but we think that the Yellows will be victorious.
