Neil Warnock has reportedly flown out to Malaysia to meet Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan for talks on preparing the club for next season's Premier League campaign.
Under the guidance of the veteran manager, the Bluebirds finished the 2017-18 Championship season in second place to secure a place in the top flight next term.
According to Wales Online, Tan is keen to avoid a repeat of the summer of 2013 when Cardiff spent big fees on unproven foreign players, only for relegation in May 2014 to prompt financial problems.
The report goes on to claim that Warnock wants mainly British-based experienced players with the aim of keeping Cardiff in the Premier League, and that discussions between the two have proven satisfactory for both parties.
The Bluebirds are expected to publish their retained list next week.
