Celtic have failed in their attempts to sign Newcastle United striker Leon Best on loan.
Neil Lennon was reportedly looking to add a striker to his squad on Tuesday but Best rejected the opportunity to move to Glasgow.
Newcastle originally rejected a loan proposal as Alan Pardew's side preferred that any move was on a permanent basis.
Before Celtic could make a second bid to sign the former Coventry striker rejected the move.
It is believed that Best wants to fight for a place in the first team at Newcastle.
