Parting company with Carlo Ancelotti and bringing in Andre Villas-Boas cost Chelsea £28m, accounts have revealed.
The figures, which have been released by Companies House, show £41.9m of "exceptional" costs for the club.
This includes sacking Italian coach Ancelotti and his entire backroom staff.
That total also incorporates the compensation paid to FC Porto to bring Villas-Boas to Stamford Bridge.
Reports have suggested that the Portuguese club received £14m from the West London outfit for their manager.
