Cesc Fabregas: 'We must take responsibility'

Cesc Fabregas insists that the Chelsea players 'have to take responsibility' for the team's struggles this season.

Cesc Fabregas has appeared to echo the sentiment of manager Jose Mourinho by saying that the Chelsea players 'have to take responsibility' for their poor performances on the field.

Mourinho accused some of his squad of 'betraying' him during Monday night's game with Bournemouth, which the Blues lost 2-1 to leave them just a point above the relegation zone.

Asked about Mourinho's comments during a chat with Facebook Live, Fabregas said: "We all have to take our responsibility. If you are a big player and you are paid like a big player, you have to work like a big player and perform like a big player.

"I'm not saying you can't have bad seasons or bad games, but the attitude has to always be spot on, we always have to be at the top of our games.

"The behaviour has to be better than what we are seeing now from every single Chelsea player."

Fabregas, who is goalless in 14 league appearances this term so far, was recently defended by Mourinho after being criticised for his performances.
