Lyon are reportedly contemplating whether to make an effort to appoint Frank Lampard as their new manager.
On Monday, the French outfit confirmed that they had parted company with Laurent Blanc, a consequence of a poor start to the season.
Les Gones currently occupy bottom spot in the Ligue 1 standings having collected just one point from their opening four fixtures.
With the need for someone to kick-start their campaign as soon as possible, owner John Textor has been scouring far and wide for a candidate that he regards as the perfect alternative.
If reports are to be believed, former AC Milan and Valencia boss Gennaro Gattuso is the current frontrunner, despite his underwhelming short stint with the latter before he departed in January.

However, according to 90min, Lampard has been added to the list of possible replacements for Blanc.
Lampard was most recently in charge of Chelsea on a caretaker basis, stepping in at his former club during 2022-23 when Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter had been sacked earlier in the season.
The 45-year-old was unable to change Chelsea's trajectory for the better, winning just one of his 11 matches and overseeing a 4-0 aggregate defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals.
With a year-long period at Everton also delivering mixed results, Lampard's current stock within the game has lowered since he guided Chelsea to a top-four finish and an FA Cup final in 2019-20.

Nevertheless, the report says that Textor is admirer of Lampard and is willing to consider handing the Englishman a chance to take charge of the struggling French outfit.
Textor has also held a stake in Crystal Palace since 2021, it being alleged that Lampard has previously being spoken about for that particular job over the past two years.
Although Lyon are back in action on Sunday evening against Le Havre, it appears increasingly unlikely that a fresh face will be at the helm in time for that fixture.
Jeremie Brechet - the club's Under-19 coach - is currently in line to take charge of the next encounter in the top flight.
