Andre Villas-Boas: 'Tottenham Hotspur are still a step behind Chelsea'

Andre Villas-Boas believes that his Tottenham Hotspur side are still one step behind the likes of Chelsea.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has insisted that his side are still one step behind Chelsea.

The London rivals face each other this afternoon, with Spurs second in the Premier League, two places above Jose Mourinho's men.

However, Villas-Boas claimed that while his side strive to challenge for titles regularly, they are still behind Chelsea at the moment.

"It's still different," he told reporters. "Chelsea's squad is a team that's played for titles. They have that experience.

"A team that is used to winning and plays to win. We don't have that yet but we want to have it. You can only do it by becoming stronger and finishing within our objectives.

"So that's what we strive for but I would say we are one step behind them."

Spurs take on Chelsea at 12.45pm this afternoon.
