Maurizio Sarri still retains the faith of the majority of his senior players despite the embarrassment of losing 6-0 to Manchester City, a report claims.

Chelsea's players are reportedly deeply embarrassed by their 6-0 loss to Manchester City but still retain faith in manager Maurizio Sarri.

The Blues suffered their heaviest defeat since losing 7-0 at Nottingham Forest in April 1991, finding themselves four goals down inside 25 minutes at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Sarri admitted after the match that his job is at risk, having also seen his side crash out 4-0 at Bournemouth in their previous away outing.

Sky Sports News suggests that, while several players have issues with Sarri's tactical approach, the majority still believe in the ex-Napoli boss.

The report indicates that senior figures at Stamford Bridge share the players' embarrassment following a poor run of results, but the mood is vastly improved on last season when Antonio Conte was in charge.

Chelsea are back in action on Thursday evening with a Europa League knockout tie against Malmo.
