Striker Diego Costa is reportedly refusing to leave Chelsea during the summer transfer window.
Earlier this month, it was claimed that head coach Antonio Conte had informed his top goalscorer that he was no longer part of his plans, and it was considered likely that the 28-year-old would find a new team ahead of next season.
However, with former club Atletico Madrid being banned from making transfers until January, it left Costa in a position where he may have had to consider another destination with AC Milan said to be keen on his signature, but it appears that they will miss out on the forward.
According to the Daily Star, Costa only wants to return to Atletico and has no desire to move to the Italian giants, who are looking to make a statement in the transfer market.
It leaves Costa seemingly content to remain on the sidelines until January in order to secure a reunion with a side for which he has previously scored 54 goals in 114 appearances in all competitions.
The suggestion is that Everton's Romelu Lukaku will arrive as Costa's replacement, while there may now be a reluctance to loan out Michy Batshuayi if funds cannot be generated by the sale of Costa.
