Chelsea have reportedly decided that they will only contemplate selling Thibaut Courtois if they first secure a replacement for the goalkeeper.
Courtois has less than one year remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge, and Real Madrid are said to be ready to pay £32m to sign the Belgium international before the end of the transfer window.
However, according to Sky Sports News, Chelsea are prepared to lose Courtois on a free next summer if they cannot secure his long-term replacement in the next 10 days.
The Blues have been linked with bids for the likes of Everton's Jordan Pickford and Stoke City's Jack Butland, but it remains to be seen whether the West Londoners will be able to strike a deal with either club.
Courtois is keen to secure a return to Spain - where he has previously represented Atletico Madrid - and as it stands, it appears that a transfer to Real will take place this summer or in 11 months' time.
