Borussia Monchengladbach fail with Andreas Christensen offer?

Chelsea turn down a bid of £14.2m from Borussia Monchengladbach for Denmark centre-back Andreas Christensen, according to a report.

Chelsea have reportedly turned down a bid of £14.2m from Borussia Monchengladbach for Andreas Christensen.

The centre-back joined Chelsea from Brondby in 2012, but has only made three first-team appearances for the Premier League club and spent the 2015-16 campaign on loan with Gladbach in the Bundesliga.

Last month, Gladbach's sporting director Max Eberl suggested that the German club were prepared to break their transfer record to sign the 20-year-old on a permanent basis.

According to Sky Sports News, a bid of little over £14m was submitted to Chelsea, but that was quickly rejected by the English outfit due to their future hopes for the Denmark international.

Christensen made 39 appearances for Gladbach last term, scoring three times in the process.
