Fenerbahce centre-back Attila Szalai is on his way to Chelsea in a £20m deal, according to a report.

Chelsea have reportedly reached an agreement with Turkish giants Fenerbahce for the signing of defender Attila Szalai.

The 23-year-old has been a regular for Fener over the past two seasons and has also been capped 21 times by Hungary at senior level.

Premier League leaders Chelsea were said to be going head-to-head with Atletico Madrid for Szalai, but it appears that the Blues have now won the race.

CNN Turk claims that Thomas Tuchel's side will pay €23.4million (£20m) for the centre-back, with that deal set to go through in the January transfer window.

Szalai will provide competition for Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, Thiago Silva and Trevoh Chalobah in the heart of Chelsea's defence.
