Report: Chelsea ready to axe Andre Schurrle

Chelsea are reportedly willing to sell German World Cup winner Andre Schurrle in January to free up space in their squad for the addition of another foreign player.

Chelsea are apparently willing to offload Andre Schurrle in January to make room for new signings.

The German World Cup winner has scored just twice in 14 appearances for the Blues this season and has not started a Premier League match since October 5.

Jose Mourinho is believed to be disappointed with Schurrle's contribution, and his efforts in cup competitions, and is prepared to sell him in the winter transfer window, according to The Sun.

Schurrle's exit would free up space at Stamford Bridge for the addition of another foreign player, with Chelsea currently at their limit of 17 non-homegrown players in their 25-man Premier League squad.

The 24-year-old has scored 11 goals in 54 games since moving to London from Bayer Leverkusen for £18m in 2013.
