Half-Time Report: No goals at Selhurst Park

Crystal Palace and Everton both miss chances to break the deadlock in a lively first half at Selhurst Park.

Despite chances being created by both teams, the first half between Everton and Crystal Palace has ended goalless at Selhurst Park.

Romelu Lukaku caused problems early on for the hosts and he looked certain to open the scoring for Everton in the 11th minute, but failed to connect with a header from close range.

Palace goalkeeper Julian Speroni was forced into action to deny Kevin Mirallas when the Belgian was offered too much space to unleash a shot after cutting in from the left.

Kagisho Dikgacoi should have put the hosts ahead after 34 minutes but he miscued his header while in plenty of space inside the box.

Palace continued to threaten before the break, with Tim Howard pushing a Jerome Thomas strike to safety before Marouane Chamakh headed wide from close range a few moments later.
