Everton midfielder Gareth Barry targets festive success

Everton midfielder Gareth Barry targets consecutive wins over the Christmas period to shoot the Toffees up the Premier League table.

Everton midfielder Gareth Barry has urged his teammates to put a good run together over the festive period.

The Toffees currently lie in 12th place in the Premier League table, but the veteran believes that his side can shoot up the table with a few wins around Christmas.

"The Christmas period's always important. What we need to do is try to put a run of games together. If you can win three or four in a row, you're going to shoot right up the league," Barry told PA Sport.

"Unfortunately the Premier League's been a bit up and down so far. It's always difficult to put your finger on one reason but we're working hard to put it right."

Everton are in Premier League action on Monday when they take on Queens Park Rangers at Goodison Park.
