Muhamed Besic: 'Roberto Martinez key to Everton switch'

New Everton signing Muhamed Besic claims that manager Roberto Martinez was the reason why he decided to join the club.

New Everton signing Muhamed Besic has claimed that the chance to work under Roberto Martinez was the reason why he joined the club.

The Bosnia-Herzegovina midfielder, 21, left Ferencvaros on Monday to sign a five-year deal with the Toffees.

Besic is now looking forward to starting his career at Goodison Park under the guidance of Martinez.

"The most important reason why I signed for Everton was Roberto Martinez – I think he is a fantastic coach," Besic told the club's official website.

"I know Everton is a really traditional club and the supporters are fantastic here. I think it is the biggest step for me after leaving Hungary.

"I think my style is suited to playing in the Premier League and I think this is the best league in the world. It will be difficult for me because we have fantastic players, but I think with the help of the coach, I will do my best."

Besic featured in all three group matches for Bosnia-Herzegovina at this summer's World Cup in Brazil.
