Everton's Leon Osman ready for "tough" fortnight

Leon Osman says that Everton are prepared for "huge" fixtures against Tottenham Hotspur and Merseyside rivals Liverpool.

Everton midfielder Leon Osman is hopeful that the Toffees can force a push up the Premier League table by taking points off their rivals in the next fortnight.

David Moyes's side take on Tottenham Hotspur this weekend, which is then followed by the Merseyside derby at Anfield.

"They could be a huge couple of weeks," Osman told the club's official website. "It's certainly a tough run of games but one we've earned and deserved and we'll look forward to them and hope to get the results that we want.

"In the past we have tended to enjoy these runs and we like playing games in a short period of time. But we can't say we've done it in the past so it's going to happen this time.

"We've got to go out there and take each game individually on its own merits and put in the performances we have been in the last few weeks."

The Toffees sit 13th in the league table with 12 games left to go in the season.
