Everton manager Frank Lampard praises the improvements that have been made by his team since taking over, stating they will be fine when it comes to the relegation fight.

Everton manager Frank Lampard has praised his team for the improvements they have made.

The Toffees have slipped down to 17th in the Premier League table recently, sitting just one point above the relegation zone following their 1-0 defeat against Manchester City.

"If the table does not look great in a couple of weeks, so be it. It did not look great when I came but I have seen big improvements in performances, confidence and how the club is joined from top to bottom, with fans, players and owners," Lampard told the press.

"Do not look too much at the table for the next few weeks. I am not buying time with that, we have a lot of points to play for. If we play with the energy and passion we did (against City), my feeling is we will be fine."

Since taking charge of the club, Lampard has guided Everton to two victories and a trio of defeats in his opening five games as manager.

Everton will be back in action on Thursday when they face Boreham Wood in the FA Cup.
