Gremio president Romilo Bolzan has suggested that Everton are ready to up their interest in winger Everton Soares.

While the Brazil international was heavily linked with a switch to the Premier League last summer, the attacker ultimately remained in his homeland.

However, according to Bolzan, Toffees boss Carlo Ancelotti has already made contact with the 24-year-old regarding a transfer during the next window.

Speaking to SGLR, Bolzan said: "There has been some contact, mainly with the player. Ancelotti himself has contacted Everton.

"I believe that Everton is not only the best Brazilian football player but in all of South American football."

The Merseyside outfit are allegedly prepared to pay as much as £31m for the playmaker.
