Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade has quashed rumours that Viola are poised to sign Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Julio Cesar.
The Brazilian goalkeeper is expected to leave Loftus Road this summer, although some clubs are believed to have been put off by his wage demands.
Napoli were in discussions with the former Inter Milan stopper, but the acquisitions of Rafael and Pepe Reina have all but ended the Partenopei's interest.
Vincenzo Montella's side are the latest to be linked with a move for Cesar, with a £2.5m bid thought to be in the works.
However, Prade said that he has not been in contact with Cesar or his agent Josias Cardoso.
"I've never contacted QPR for Julio Cesar or his agent," he told Sky Sport Italia. "I therefore deny the stories in the newspapers."
The 33-year-old, who has been capped 74 times for Brazil, only joined QPR last summer.
