Preview: Derby County vs. Huddersfield Town

Sports Mole previews Derby County's Championship meeting with Huddersfield Town.

Derby County play host to Huddersfield Town in search of the win that could potentially put them top of the Championship, but they face a side who are much improved of late.

The Terriers are unbeaten in seven matches under Chris Powell, a point they double underlined at the weekend when they thrashed Nottingham Forest 3-0.

Powell is likely to continue with the front pairing of Grant Holt and Nahki Wells, which has proven fruitful in recent matches, with James Vaughan almost certain to remain sidelined with a calf injury.

Wingers Sean Scannell and Harry Bunn are on course to remain in the starting XI in place of Jonathan Hogg and Lee Peltier after impressing against Forest, while Adam Hammill and Joe Lolley could be in contention for inclusion.

Derby, who head into the match three points behind league leaders Watford, were unlucky to lose to a stoppage time goal at Brentford over the weekend and will be keen to return to winning ways.

Manager Steve McClaren may be tempted to reshuffle the pack to reinvigorate his team, with Will Hughes and John Eustace among those pushing for a recall.
