Jordan Rhodes thinks that it is "bizarre" to see his name linked with a number of Championship and Premier League clubs.

Huddersfield Town striker Jordan Rhodes has claimed that he finds it "bizarre" to be linked with an array of clubs following a successful season in League Two.

The 22-year-old set the Football League alight this season by netting 40 goals, which helped the Terriers secure promotion to League One via the playoffs.

The forward's scintillating form is believed to have attracted interest from Premier League outfits West Ham United and Everton, as well as SPL champions Celtic.

"It's very flattering when you see your name in the papers linked with big clubs. You dream as a boy you'll someday see your name in lights," Rhodes told the Daily Record.

"Now that I'm starting to see my name like that you don't actually believe it is real. I look at my name and don't think it's me they're talking about. Seeing my name with a £5m figure next to it is a bit strange and all a bit bizarre. Sometimes I look at it and I don't know who they're talking about.

"It's more important to maintain level-headedness and concentrate on what's important in life. It's not up to me what happens off the field or what figures people quote or write in papers."

Rhodes has been with Huddersfield since 2009.
