Hull City caretaker manager Nick Barmby has said that the club should be aiming for a return to the Premier League.
The Tigers, who were relegated from English football's top tier in 2010, moved into the Championship playoff places with Wednesday's 2-1 win at home to Birmingham City.
"The ambition is to be up there," he said. "The team we've got, they should be believing they can challenge and there's no reason they can't.
"If they show that application week in, week out they've got a great chance. But it's a difficult league and you just need to be more consistent.
"We've asked them for consistency at home and they've managed to win the last two, which is pleasing."
Despite the club's climb up the table, the 37-year-old remained quiet on whether he would be offered the job full time at the KC Stadium.
