Half-Time Report: David McGoldrick scores twice in four minutes to give Ipswich Town lead

David McGoldrick scores two goals in the space of four first-half minutes to give Ipswich Town a 2-0 half-time lead over Brighton & Hove Albion.

David McGoldrick's four-minute double salvo has given Ipswich Town a 2-0 half-time lead over Brighton & Hove Albion at Portman Road.

The away side, who had the Championship's second-best defensive record at the start of play, should have taken the lead inside the opening 10 minutes, but Andrew Crofts squandered a glorious opportunity following good work by Will Buckley on the right wing.

Ipswich Town got the opener through McGoldrick, who grabbed his fourth goal of the season when his 25-yard effort looped over Tomasz Kuszczak via a wicked deflection off Gordon Greer.

McGoldrick doubled his tally just four minutes later when he surged past Greer and drilled a low finish into the far corner.
