Ipswich Town have secured the services of Scottish defender Christophe Berra.
The centre-back was available for a short period of time after he was informed by Wolverhampton Wanderers that he was free to leave the club.
Manager Mick McCarthy said of Berra: "It's a great signing for us, especially on a free transfer. I'm delighted to get Christophe on a two-year deal."
Berra's arrival at Portman Road has also resulted in the club ending their pursuit of former England youth international Titus Bramble.
"Mick McCarthy has confirmed that Titus Bramble will not be offered a contract at Ipswich Town," read a statement on the club's official Facebook page.
Bramble, who started his career with Ipswich, had recently been training with the Tractor Boys and had turned out in a couple of pre-season friendlies.
