Sebastian Giovinco gave the hosts an early lead, when he curled an effort into the top corner from just inside the area.

They soon doubled their lead through Martin Caceres, who slid in to poke the ball home following a free kick.

Fabio Quagliarella scored their third goal of the evening, as he headed Giovinco's free kick into the net, beating the keeper at his near post.

The home side continued to dominate the game, but could not add to their advantage as they eased into the next round.
