Cristiano Ronaldo says that he has no intention of slowing down in his latter years after scoring in his landmark 1,000th game in club football.

Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo has admitted that he is hopeful of playing "hudreds of games more" after clocking up the 1,000th appearance of his club career.

The 35-year-old marked the landmark occasion with a goal in Juve's 2-1 win over SPAL last weekend, equalling a Serie A record of scoring in 11 successive games in the process.

Ronaldo is now into his 18th season in senior football - a career that has so far seen him win five Ballons d'Or - but he has no intention of slowing down in his latter years.

"It's a good achievement," he told Sky Sports News. "One thousand games means that dedication, hard work and talent pays off.

"It is not easy to do 1000 games at 35 years old. I'm so happy. It's nice but I hope to play hundreds of games more.

"It's good, it's a good number but the most important thing was to win the game and be on top of the league."

Ronaldo has also represented Manchester United and Real Madrid since making his professional debut for Sporting Lisbon in 2002.
