Andy King to miss game against Southampton with calf injury

Nigel Pearson confirms that a calf injury will keep Andy King out of Leicester City's game against Southampton on Saturday.

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has confirmed that Andy King will not be available to play against Southampton on Saturday afternoon.

King was forced off in the defeat against Chelsea just over a week ago, and despite making progress in his recovery from a calf problem, the midfielder will be given another week to reach full fitness.

"I would rule Andy King out but he has made very good progress," the Foxes boss told reporters. "He has done quite a bit of training with the group. If circumstances were slightly different then there would be a chance of maybe him being involved.

"He is an important player for us so we don't feel it is in anyone's interest to push him too much at this stage, so we'll rule him out just on that basis. Everybody else really looks like they'll be available for the weekend."

Leicester are currently one point clear of the relegation zone with three games remaining.
